PPG Industries, Inc is immediately hiring an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for Barberton/Norton, OH. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing facility equipment, with a 2nd shift from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

It offers a starting pay of $34.80 per hour and includes a $1,000 sign-on bonus plus a $1,000 retention bonus based on tenure. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring equipment performance while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Five years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a chemical facility.
• Certified Maintenance Apprenticeship Program or Mechanical Institute Certificate.
• Experience in pump and gearbox rebuilds.
• HVAC or Electrical experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret and understand technical documents/manuals and CAD drawings of plant equipment.

Responsabilités

• Repair, modify and install equipment or machinery to maintain and operate the facility.
• Diagnose problems and replace or repair parts for sophisticated equipment building systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on belts, piping, filters, mixers, valves, bearings, motors, gear boxes, dies, extruders, feeders, rolls, drive chains, classifiers, mills, and mechanical seals and pumps.
• Work in confined spaces, elevated platforms, ladders, scaffolding and roofs.
• Maintain records and reports and work from detailed technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.
