Job summary

PPG Barberton/Norton is seeking a Maintenance Millwright & Equipment Rebuilder to keep production equipment running in a fast-paced plant. You will install, modify, and repair machinery, diagnose faults, and perform PMs on pumps, gearboxes, and conveyors, ensuring equipment reliability.

The role requires 5+ years in industrial maintenance, a maintenance apprenticeship or certificate, and CMMS/ CAD reading skills. Overtime and safety are emphasized in a union-adjacent facility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience; chemical environment preferred.
• Certified Maintenance Apprenticeship or Mechanical Institute Certificate.
• Proven pump and gearbox rebuild capability.
• HVAC or electrical background preferred.
• Proficiency reading technical manuals and CAD prints.

Responsibilities

• Install, modify, and repair facility machinery and mechanical systems.
• Diagnose and correct faults on building and production equipment.
• Execute PMs on belts, piping, filters, mixers, valves, bearings, motors, gearboxes, dies, extruders, feeders, rolls, drive chains, classifiers, mills, seals, and pumps.
• Troubleshoot, proof test, and implement preventive solutions.
• Drive 5S standards for efficiency, cleanliness, and safety.
• Carry out preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Find root causes, develop options, and implement fixes within time constraints.
• Perform basic welding and fabrication; work in confined spaces at heights.
