Job summary

Air Liquide is hiring a Mechanical Technician in Geismar, LA to maintain and repair mechanical equipment across multiple ASUs and a cogeneration unit. You will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on pumps, compressors, turbines, valves, and piping, using blueprints and P&IDs while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (Associate’s preferred) and about 10 years of industrial experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.
• 10+ years in mechanical technician roles in industrial/petrochemical settings.
• Ability to read technical drawings, P&IDs and manuals.
• Strong safety knowledge (LOTO, confined space, hot work).
• Experience with rotating equipment maintenance and precision alignment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment (compressors, pumps, turbines, valves, piping, rotating machinery).
• Diagnose failures using blueprints, schematics, and manuals; troubleshoot system malfunctions.
• Carry out precise adjustments, alignments, and overhauls; replace worn parts.
• Maintain equipment records in CMMS; document activities accurately.
• Support reliability improvements with operations and engineering teams.
• Participate in pre-startup safety reviews and risk assessments.
• Assist commissioning/decommissioning of systems and respond to emergencies.
