Qualifications

Minimum of seven years of experience in industrial mechanical construction.
Lead, Millwright, Rigger or Structural Welder experience is highly valued.
Proven ability to lead safety initiatives and coordinate field crews.

Responsibilities

Direct a wide range of personnel including Millwrights, Riggers, Ironworkers, Welders and support staff.
Engage in direct tool work to maintain safety, quality and efficiency.
Oversee installation of mechanical equipment, structural steel modifications, and precision alignment tasks.
Plan and execute complex lift plans and placement of rotating equipment, conveyors and bases.
Coordinate with piping teams to streamline equipment tie-ins and process/utility integration.
Monitor site performance, material requirements, labor tracking and schedule bottlenecks.
Contribute to plant relocations, capital projects, emergency repairs and facility expansions.

You will oversee essential tasks including structural welding, ironwork, rigging, millwright alignment, equipment installation, and fabrication, while utilizing your piping expertise to manage trade interfaces and equipment tie-ins. This is a hands-on position requiring you to actively assist crews and utilize tools to ensure project success.

Role Overview

Compensation and Perks

Hourly rate ranging from $36 to $45, determined by your expertise, the specific project, and market conditions.

Schedule Expectations

Standard operations typically follow a Monday through Thursday rotation.
A consistent 4x10 weekly schedule is the norm.
Flexibility for weekends, nights, Fridays, travel, and outages is necessary to meet project demands.

Primary Duties

Direct a wide range of personnel, including Millwrights, Riggers, Ironworkers, Welders, and various support staff.
Engage in direct tool work to help the team maintain high standards of safety, quality, and production efficiency.
Manage the installation of mechanical equipment, structural steel modifications, and precision alignment tasks.
Facilitate complex lift plans and the precise placement of rotating equipment, conveyors, and machine bases to ensure project accuracy.
Collaborate with piping teams to streamline equipment tie-ins and ensure seamless integration of process and utility systems.

Desired Background

Minimum of seven years of experience within the industrial mechanical construction sector.
Background as a Lead, Millwright, Rigger, or Structural Welder is highly valued.
Comprehensive expertise in rigging, structural fabrication, equipment setting, and multi-trade coordination.
Familiarity with welding coordination and the technical requirements for process piping and equipment integration.
Proven ability to lead safety initiatives, communicate effectively, and manage field crews.

Physical Requirements and Environment

Frequent work within active industrial plants, construction sites, and outdoor settings.
Capacity to utilize all necessary PPE, navigate ladders and scaffolds, and maintain mobility in challenging field areas.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and provide physical assistance to the team during field operations.
Schedule flexibility to accommodate emergency repairs, site incidents, and shifting project deadlines.
