Job summary

Edgewater Technical Associates, LLC in the United States is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Process Estimator for large-scale industrial, advanced manufacturing, and complex construction projects. The role focuses on developing and reviewing cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and evaluating subcontractor proposals.

Responsibilities include collaborating with project teams to ensure accurate pricing, reviewing drawings and bid documents, and supporting preconstruction activities with cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in construction management, engineering, building systems, or related field preferred.
• Experience in mechanical/process estimating for industrial construction or large-scale capital projects.
• Strong understanding of industrial mechanical systems, piping isometrics, HVAC, and utility systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates for mechanical and process construction scopes on large-scale industrial projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis for piping, equipment, HVAC, utilities, and related systems.
• Review drawings, isometrics, layouts, specs, and bid documents to determine requirements.
• Develop estimates for labor, materials, equipment, fabrication, installation, and subcontractor costs.
• Solicit and evaluate mechanical subcontractor and vendor proposals for pricing accuracy and scope.
• Identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, risks, and value engineering opportunities.
• Collaborate with design, engineering, procurement, and construction teams during preconstruction and execution.
• Participate in design-build estimating, budgeting, and estimate reconciliation.
• Develop cost comparisons and alternatives to support project budgets.
