Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking an estimator with strong mechanical estimating experience to join the team in Greenville, SC. The role focuses on preparing accurate cost estimates for industrial process and power construction and maintenance projects.

You will perform detailed quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications, develop material and labor pricing, and manage RFPs to vendors and subcontractors, ensuring best-value proposals are included in estimates.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical estimating experience is required.
• Ability to prepare accurate cost estimates for industrial processes and power construction.
• Experience doing quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications.
• Experience issuing RFPs to vendors/subcontractors and evaluating proposals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for industrial process and power construction and maintenance projects.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications and develop material and labor pricing.
• Scope and issue RFPs to vendors and subcontractors, then analyze, compare, and select best-value proposals for inclusion in estimates.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site walk-downs; escort subcontractors to ensure accurate understanding of scope and conditions.
• Develop project schedules for proposals and provide detailed cost breakdowns plus written work-plan narratives.
• Participate in bid reviews and explain scope, costs, assumptions, and means/methods to management for approval.
• Apply historical cost data and account for safety and site-specific work rules in estimates.
