Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies, a unit of Ohio Transmission Corporation, is seeking an experienced mechanical technician to support shop and field repairs. You will disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, and related rotating equipment with a focus on safety and quality.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, interpreting drawings, documenting findings, and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of mechanical or related experience
• High school diploma or GED
• Mechanical aptitude; multi-craft experience a plus. Proficient in using precision measuring tools like micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
• Strong understanding of mechanical fits, tolerances, and alignment procedures
• Familiar with API, ANSI, and OEM standards related to rotating equipment
• Strong communication skills
• Self-starter with a positive attitude and organized work habits
• Valid driver's license; able to pass drug test and background check
• Physical ability to sit, stand, and bend for extended periods
• Coachable and eager to learn

Responsibilities

• Performs duties assigned under the direction of Shop Manager to ensure the team is aligned to the goals and objectives for the team for each day.
• Perform and oversee the disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, and related rotating equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and lead root cause analysis on equipment failures.
• Interpret technical drawings, OEM manuals, and repair specifications.
• Ensure proper documentation of repair findings, measurements, tolerances, and parts used.
• Represent OTC professionally and build strong customer relationships.
• Follow safety protocols and stay current through ongoing training.
• Handle emergency service calls with speed and precision to keep operations moving.
• Be flexible and ready to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
