Job summary

USG Corporation is seeking an Industrial Electrician to join our manufacturing plant team on the night shift. Starting hourly pay ranges from $27.95 to $40.12, with a schedule of 5:45pm-6am and a rotating two-week cycle (Sat/Sun/Mon-Tue then Wed-Fri).

The role emphasizes safe operation, preventive maintenance, motor control, and PLC-based control systems in a dynamic plant environment. Benefit options and retirement plans are available to employees.

Qualifications

• Experience as an electrician in a plant setting.
• Basic mechanical maintenance skills.
• Ability to interpret and perform tasks as detailed on printed work orders.
• Basic computer skills for safety training and reviewing emails.
• Ability to operate equipment, including forklifts.
• Familiarity with common hand tools and proper usage.
• Good collaboration skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Safely install, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot electrical components.
• Maintain, test and repair AC/DC motors and motor control systems.
• Develop skill set to troubleshoot advanced control systems and instrumentation, including PLC controls.
• Interpret and use wiring schematics.
• Operate electrical test equipment.
• Know and follow NEC codes, NFPA-70E rules and safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.

Job description

Industrial Electrician:

Starting hourly payrate $27.95 - $40.12 per hour

Work schedule, Night shift 5:45pm-6am

Monday, Tuesday, Saturday & Sunday for 2 weeks then Wednesday-Friday for 2 weeks

Role & Responsibilities:

• Work safely as a top priority by adhering to the plant’s accident prevention policies. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Safely install, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot electrical components within the manufacturing plant.
• Maintain, test and repair AC/DC motors and motor control systems.
• Develop skill set to troubleshoot advanced control system and instrumentation equipment including PLC controls.
• Interpret and use wiring schematics.
• Operate electrical test equipment inherent to the job.
• Know and understand NEC codes, become trained in NFPA-70E, and practice all other electrician duties in a manufacturing environment

• Must have the desired technical skills to safely and proficiently work as an electrician in a plant setting.

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
