Job summary

Nylon Corporation of America (NYCOA) in Manchester, New Hampshire, seeks an Industrial Mechanic/Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment, ensuring continuous operations. The role offers hands-on training for entry-level candidates and a path to skilled maintenance work.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot issues, follow safety protocols, and collaborate with electricians for electrical repairs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of experience preferred, but training available for entry-level candidates.
• Able to lift 55 pounds, frequently lift and carry 25 pounds, and work on ladders.
• Must wear proper PPE and respirator.
• Able to work with minimal supervision and be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain machinery and equipment such as engines, motors, pumps, vessels and tanks and their components, and conveyor systems.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring/testing instruments.
• Follow diagrams, operation manuals, and specs, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Dismantle equipment to access defective parts; use hoists and power tools.
• Inspect parts to verify dimensional changes with calipers and micrometers.
• Adjust control instruments using hand tools and levels.
• Repair and replace defective parts and install components.
• Perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment functioning.
• Assist in repairing electrical equipment with qualified electricians.
