Job summary

CMC seeks a Mechanical Maintenance Technician in Arkansas to diagnose and repair heavy industrial equipment across steel and construction reinforcement operations. You will use SAP maintenance module, read blueprints, determine component grades, monitor equipment, and document trends.

Candidates should have 3+ years of field experience, welding/fabrication skills, and the ability to work rotating shifts in a demanding environment. We offer strong benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of field experience in heavy industrial operations or manufacturing.
• Experience with welding, cutting, fabrication and equipment maintenance preferred.
• Demonstrates ability to stand for extended shifts and work in harsh conditions.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components to determine root cause.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics for maintenance tasks.
• Monitor and inspect equipment for defects and replace faulty parts.
• Prepare maintenance reports and document corrective actions and trends.
• Work safely and follow PPE and safety rules; participate in safety programs.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment, hand tools and personal knowledge to determine root cause
• Use SAP maintenance module in the execution of duties, utilize computers to acquire information, documentation, account for time and corrective actions
• Determine grades and sizes of bolts, pipes, tubing, cables, and wires
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics
• Monitor and inspect equipment for defects. Properly remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, overhead cranes, hand, and power tools
• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
• Work safely to prevent on the job injuries by following safety rules and regulations at all times including proper wearing of company PPE
• Participate in CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
• Possess specific fundamental knowledge of bearings, power transmission equipment, electrical, hydraulics/pneumatics, lubrication, fluid pumping systems, and heat transfer
• All other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

• Minimum 3 years of field experience in either heavy industrial operations and/or manufacturing environment strongly preferred
• Experience with welding, cutting, fabrication and equipment maintenance preferred
• Ability to stand for duration of shift; frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shift
• Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
• Ability to utilize precision measurement instruments
• Ability to work rotating shifts which include nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
• Strong communication skills required. Must read, speak and understand English language in verbal and written communication
