Job summary

Commercial Metals Company, a Fortune 500® leader in construction reinforcement, seeks a maintenance-focused professional to diagnose and repair equipment in our facilities. You will use SAP maintenance to document actions, analyze trends, and ensure safe, efficient operation across production lines.

The role requires reading blueprints, handling heavy equipment, and working rotating shifts. We offer strong training, advancement opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of field experience in heavy industrial operations or manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience with welding, cutting, fabrication and equipment maintenance preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
  • Strong English communication and safety-conscious mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems and determine root causes using test equipment and tools.
  • Operate SAP maintenance module to document actions, time and corrective steps.
  • Identify grades and sizes of bolts, pipes, tubing and wires and select appropriate parts.
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics to guide repairs and installations.
  • Monitor equipment for defects and safely remove faulty parts using hoists and cranes.
  • Prepare maintenance reports by analyzing data and trends.

What You'll Do
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment, hand tools and personal knowledge to determine root cause
  • Use SAP maintenance module in the execution of duties, utilize computers to acquire information, documentation, account for time and corrective actions
  • Determine grades and sizes of bolts, pipes, tubing, cables, and wires
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics
  • Monitor and inspect equipment for defects. Properly remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, overhead cranes, hand, and power tools
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Work safely to prevent on the job injuries by following safety rules and regulations at all times including proper wearing of company PPE
  • Participate in CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
  • Possess specific fundamental knowledge of bearings, power transmission equipment, electrical, hydraulics/pneumatics, lubrication, fluid pumping systems, and heat transfer
  • All other duties as assigned
What You'll Need
  • Minimum 3 years of field experience in either heavy industrial operations and/or manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Experience with welding, cutting, fabrication and equipment maintenance preferred
  • Ability to stand for duration of shift; frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shift
  • Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
  • Ability to utilize precision measurement instruments
  • Ability to work rotating shifts which include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
  • Strong communication skills required. Must read, speak and understand English language in verbal and written communication

  • High School Diploma or GED required
