Job summary

O’Neal Manufacturing Services in Greensboro, NC is seeking an Industrial Materials Logistics Associate to keep production moving by receiving steel and components, staging, moving, cleaning, and loading finished parts, serving as the link between inventory and customers.

The role requires operating forklifts, cranes, and related equipment, verifying inbound counts, and storing materials for easy retrieval while following safety and quality procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic critical thinking and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely; operate overhead cranes using pendant radio controls and maintain certifications.
  • Proficiency with hand tools.
  • Knowledge of measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, micrometers).
  • Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints.
  • Ability to speak, write, and comprehend conversational English.

Responsibilities

  • Receive inbound inventory and verify counts and documentation for accuracy.
  • Place materials into designated storage locations for easy retrieval.
  • Pull inventory from storage to fulfill internal production needs and customer orders.
  • Operate forklifts, hand trucks, cranes, and related equipment to move materials to/from trucks and through the facility.
  • Load materials onto trucks and trailers for outbound shipments.
  • Deliver error-free work by following established processes that support safety and quality programs.

Role Overview

As an Industrial Materials Logistics Associate, you’ll keep production moving. From receiving steel and components to staging, moving, cleaning, and loading finished parts, you’ll be the link between inventory and our customers.

Compensation
  • Pay: $15.00 - $18.50 per/Hour. Paid Weekly!
Shift Differential
  • 12-Hour Day Shift: $3.00
  • 12-Hour Night Shift: $3.00
  • 2nd Shift: $1.00
  • 3rd Shift: $1.50
Schedule Options
  • 12-Hour Day Shift: 5:30 AM - 6:00 PM, Rotating 4 days on; 4 days off
  • 12-Hour Night Shift: 5:30 PM - 6:00 AM, Rotating 4 days on; 4 days off
  • 1st Shift: M-Fri. 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: M-Fri. 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
  • 3rd Shift: M-Fri. 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM
A Day in the Life
  • Start with a safety huddle and follow all safety policies, procedures, and guidelines throughout the shift.
  • Receive inbound inventory and verify counts and documentation for accuracy.
  • Place materials into designated storage locations for easy retrieval.
  • Pull inventory from storage to fulfill internal production needs and customer orders.
  • Operate forklifts, hand trucks, cranes, and related equipment to move materials to/from trucks and through the facility.
  • Clean parts with hand or pedestal grinders and other metal finishing tools.
  • Assemble products or kits as required and stage for the next operation.
  • Load materials onto trucks and trailers for outbound shipments.
  • Deliver error-free work by following established processes that support our safety and quality programs.
  • Keep your area clean and organized, work under direct supervision, and take on other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic critical thinking and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely; able to operate overhead cranes using pendant radio controls and maintain required equipment certifications.
  • Proficiency with hand tools.
  • Skill using measuring tools such as a tape measure, box calipers, slide dial calipers, and micrometers.
  • Knowledge of safe, best practices for loading and unloading materials from trailers or trucks.
  • Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines.
  • Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints.
  • Ability to speak, write, and comprehend conversational English.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Stand and walk for prolonged periods, including 2-5 miles per shift.
  • Frequently bend, sit, stand, twist, and stoop for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry 25-50 lbs from floor to waist and front-carry 25-50 lbs repeatedly per shift.
  • Reach overhead, squat, kneel, and climb short ladders or steps.
  • Maintain precise hand and finger coordination to grasp and manipulate objects.
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and other material handling equipment.
  • Read labels, follow safety instructions, and communicate effectively in an industrial setting.
  • 20/30 vision with corrective lenses.
  • Indoor/outdoor conditions with exposure to changing temperatures, loud noise, and vibration from equipment use.
  • Hazards may include proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, high heat, and chemicals.
  • Atmospheric conditions may include fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
  • Potential air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
