Job summary

Yancey Bros. Co. is seeking an Industrial & Marine Engine Field Service Technician in Houma, LA to service Perkins diesel engines and other makes in generators, pumps, drills, cranes, and marine vessels.

You will diagnose, repair, and document findings on-site, often handling complex power systems and controls. The role requires strong customer service, ability to read schematics, proficiency with MS Office, and a drive to solve problems safely.

Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of diesel engines, power electronics, electronic controls, and fuel systems.
• Strong sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service.
• Ability to take direction and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Work in a neat and orderly manner, maintaining a safe work environment and a constant focus on completing the task at hand safely.
• Proficiently diagnose and complete repairs on Perkins and other engines across power generation, industrial, and marine applications.
• Apply failure analysis techniques to determine root cause and relay findings to customers and office personnel.
• Care for and maintain company machines and equipment to high standards and ensure coworkers do the same.
• Respond to customer needs promptly to maximize value of work performed.
• Write full reports on findings from shop service events with clear information.
• Communicate status of maintenance and repairs effectively with customers.
• Be willing to work overtime as required, including after-hours calls.
