Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Pontiac, IL is seeking an Industrial Manufacturing Engineer to lead end-to-end process flow, throughput optimization, and workforce alignment at a large-scale facility.

You will design material flow, staffing plans, and production systems, drive Lean initiatives, collaborate cross-functionally, and lead digital transformation with KPI digitization and autonomous robotics. This onsite role requires five days a week, relocation is available, and travel up to 25% after six

Qualifications

• Capacity planning and management for production demand and resource provisioning.
• Collaborates with R&D to plan resources and capacity for products under development.
• Creates forecasts for multiple product lines and facilities.
• Advises on cycles of capacity planning for product or site.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and implementation of a greenfield facility with optimal layout and scalability.
• Design labor strategies, staffing plans, and deployment models for current and future demands.
• Design, analyze, and optimize end-to-end material and process flows across the value stream.
• Drive throughput improvements by reducing WIP, lead times, and bottlenecks.
• Lead digital transformation initiatives including KPI digitization and robotics integration.
• Act as lead engineer coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve flow and performance goals.
• Lead Lean and continuous improvement using A3 and DMAIC methods to eliminate waste.
• Partner with production, supply chain, quality, and maintenance to align materials and execution.
