Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Melbourne, FL is seeking an Industrial Manufacturing Engineer III to support CNS product manufacturing. You will evaluate and solve everyday manufacturing problems, provide technical support to operations, and apply LEAN principles to improve flow and efficiency of assembly processes.

The role focuses on developing, validating, and sustaining assembly processes for new and existing products, with emphasis on eliminating waste and improving productivity across multiple steps.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of manufacturing and/or electrical component trouble-shooting experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive manufacturing process improvements across multiple assembly process steps.
• Perform time studies to maintain standard timings used for operator productivity calculations.
• Identify opportunities to remove waste from processes and reduce standard times.
• Support Production Build Operators with immediate needs on Tooling and Processes to meet production schedule.
• Utilize drafting/modeling SW to design and implement new fixtures for process improvement.
• Develop and maintain PFMEAs.
• Analyze and understand factory needs and requirements.
• Conduct Process Flow and line balancing analysis and drive improvements.
• Develop tools that enable manufacturing or increase production rates.
• Implement procedure and process improvements based on safety, quality, and productivity.
