Job summary

Corvid Technologies is seeking an Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer to design and implement production line layouts for complex systems. You will work with Product Design and suppliers to create efficient factory layouts, capacity models, and robust manufacturing processes.

The role requires evaluating manufacturing and assembly processes for complex weapon systems, developing scalable layouts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deploy new capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Operations or related STEM discipline.
• At least 7 years in an operations environment with design experience for complex production.
• Experience with advanced factory simulation and 3D layout tools (e.g., FlexSim, Tecnomatix/Plant Sim, DELMIA, Arena).
• Proven track record in process improvement and equipment layout design for new product manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead equipment and process initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency.
• Perform flow analysis, layout development, and cost analysis with Engineering to maintain BOMs and product structures.
• Study product requirements to design manufacturing systems that meet performance, quality, and cost objectives.
• Develop space utilization plans for scalable, safe operations and manage digital artifacts.
• Integrate material flow, kitting, and logistics into layouts to minimize WIP and costs.
• Oversee commissioning of new production lines, installation sequencing, and handoffs.
• Specify utility requirements and coordinate with Equipment Engineering on footprints and clearances.
• Review KPIs and establish new ones as needed; maintain existing KPIs.
• Develop and revise technical docs including SOPs and process guides.
• Design layouts for new product manufacturing from concept to commissioning.

Job description

Corvid's Manufacturing team continues to expand its production footprint to support additional product lines. The Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer will execute design, development, implementation and planning for production line layouts to efficiently produce complex systems for DoW and commercial customers. In this highly visible role, you will collaborate closely with Product Design, Industrial Design, Manufacturing Design, and global suppliers.

This position will require experience evaluating manufacturing and assembly processes needed to manufacture complex weapon systems. Using analytical data, relevant technology upgrades/investments, the candidate will develop highly efficient factory layouts, accurate capacity modeling, and manufacturing processes. The candidate will have insight into products from development through prototyping and ultimately production efforts. This position will require the ability to work closely with other business/engineering teams to identify, capture, and execute new production capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead equipment and process initiatives that enhance productivity, improve quality, and optimize the use of people, machines, materials, and information
• Provide flow analysis, statistical data analysis and correlation, layout development, equipment evaluation, and cost analysis, while working closely with Engineering to establish and maintain manufacturing Bills of Material and product structures
• Study product requirements and design manufacturing systems that meet performance, quality, and cost objectives
• Develop plans for space utilization that maximizes available space while providing scalability, efficiency, and safe operations – including managing the digital artifacts
• Integrate material flow, kitting, and logistics paths into layout designs to minimize handling costs and Work-In-Progress (WIP) accumulation
• Drive the commissioning of new production lines, including installation sequencing, line acceptance testing, and formal production handoffs
• Specify precise utility requirements (electrical, pneumatic, HVAC, structural floor loading) and coordinate with Equipment Engineering on station footprints and installation clearances
• Review productivity and quality metrics on an ongoing basis, establish new key performance indicators (KPIs) when needed, and maintain existing KPIs
• Develop, maintain, and revise technical documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, process guides, and other manufacturing documents
• Evaluate and design equipment layouts for new product manufacturing, ensuring safe, efficient, and scalable operations – working from concept to commissioning of new product lines (installation sequencing

Requirements

• Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance
• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related STEM discipline
• At least 7 years of directly relevant experience in an operations environment and operations design, preferably in Automotive, Aerospace, or other automated, high-complexity production and industrial manufacturing environments
• Demonstrated experience developing executable facility layout blueprints and complex digital model development of production floors
• Preferred candidate will have experience with advanced factory simulation and 3D layout tools (e.g., FlexSim, Siemens Tecnomatix/Plant Sim, DELMIA, Arena) to represent Discrete Event Simulation (DES)
• Demonstrated experience in process improvement and manufacturing engineering
• Proficiency in equipment selection and equipment layout evaluation and design for new product manufacturing
