Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Maintenance Technician at our Sparrows Point Cement Plant in MD to support mechanical and basic electrical tasks in a heavy industrial setting.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of equipment such as fans, conveyors, mills, and gearboxes, with opportunities for welding and hydraulics work, reading schematics and blueprints, while maintaining a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Welding Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Strong welding and cutting skills with ability to work from blueprints, sketches, or detailed instructions.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and participate in plant housekeeping.
• Repair equipment such as fans, screw conveyors, belt conveyors, reducers, bucket elevators, dust collectors, rotary feeders, vertical roller mills, ball mills and other material handling equipment.
• Have a basic understanding of hydraulics and be able to read schematics.
• Respond to call-outs during non-work hours as needed.
• Align from motor to gearbox, motor to pump, gearbox to open gear or similar equipment.
• Estimate material requirements and prepare requisitions and reports.
• Participate in formal and on-the-job training programs and cross training activities.
• Suggest programs to reduce costs or increase productivity and take independent action to resolve problems.
• Apply skills to work in other positions as assigned and support other plant functions.
• Demonstrate commitment to health, safety and environmental policies and promote safety culture.
