Job summary

Pitney Bowes is hiring for an onsite Industrial Maintenance Technician Trainee in our Indianapolis, IN facility. 2nd shift (2pm–10:30pm, Monday–Friday).

Base rate: $26.00/hour with an additional $1.00/hour for 2nd shift. You will perform mechanical and electronic repairs on equipment including printer and mail sorting systems, complete preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and manage inventory and spare parts.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical equipment.
• Familiarity with Windows PC environments in automated equipment.
• Excellent problem solving under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electronic repairs of equipment including printer and mail sorting equipment.
• Complete preventative maintenance according to Mail Preparation Total Quality Management and vendor operating standards.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns or emergencies with urgency and expediency.
• Utilize inventory, pm schedule and work order systems, and maintain the spare parts/supply inventory.
• Evaluate and assess equipment problems by troubleshooting and completing repairs in a timely manner.
• Perform all additional duties as required.

You will

As an Onsite Maintenance Technician Trainee, you have

• Experience trouble‑shooting and repairing complex mechanical equipment with at least one year of break/fix mechanical experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Windows PC environment as it pertains to the operation of automated equipment preferred.
• Excellent problem solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot equipment problems, establish priorities, and work under deadline pressures.
• The ability to lift up to 50 lbs., walk, stand, stoop, and bend 80% of the time with or without accommodations.
