Job summary

IFB Solutions in Asheville, NC is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to service industrial sewing machines and plant equipment, inspect systems, and resolve mechanical issues. The role includes electrical/plumbing upkeep, installing new equipment, and collaborating on accessible task designs for visually impaired workers.

You will support the maintenance team, with duties expanding to physical plant projects as needed, while complying with safety protocols and schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in industrial sewing machine maintenance required.
• Experience in physical plant maintenance preferred.
• Forklift certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on industrial sewing machines and plant equipment.
• Inspect plant equipment, diagnose mechanical problems, and take corrective action.
• Perform electrical, plumbing, and structural maintenance within scope.
• Complete construction, refurbishing, and installation of new equipment as needed.
• Collaborate to design/improve tasks for visually impaired workers.
• Provide backup for Utility Person – Maintenance.
