Job summary

IFB Solutions in Asheville, NC is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and support all plant structures and mechanical operations following established work and safety procedures. You will service industrial sewing machines and plant equipment, perform inspections, diagnose problems, and implement corrective actions, while collaborating with the Maintenance Lead and Plant Manager.

This role requires reading instructions, teamwork, and the ability to work overtime; forklift certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in industrial sewing machine maintenance.
• Experience in physical plant maintenance.
• Training/experience in mechanical, electrical and plumbing is preferred.
• Must be able to obtain forklift certification.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on industrial sewing machines and all plant equipment.
• Perform routine inspections on plant equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain facilities including electrical wiring, plumbing, and fixtures within scope of knowledge.
• Complete construction, maintenance, refurbishing, and installation of new equipment.
• Collaborate with Trainer to improve any machine or fixture for a visually impaired worker.
• Provide backup for Utility Person – Maintenance.
• Assist other personnel as time allows.
