Job summary

North Coast Seafoods seeks a Production Maintenance Mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair processing equipment in our seafood plants. Reports to Facilities & Maintenance Manager and collaborates with factory mechanics to ensure smooth operations.

The role emphasizes preventative maintenance, machinery troubleshooting, and safety-focused work in a fast-paced plant environment, with physical demands and exposure to cold temperatures. Full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance/line mechanics.
• Experience with packaging and/or bagging equipment preferred.
• Diverse background in mechanical, electrical and plumbing experience preferred.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Great attention to detail; ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots machinery
• Performs preventative maintenance
• Replace parts of machines as needed
• Tests and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications
• Reviews workspace for cleanliness and safety
• Performs conveyor belt maintenance and repair
• Performs electrical work such as motor replacement, basic industrial wiring & troubleshooting
• Performs mechanical work including bearing replacement, gearing, sprockets and roller chains, belts
