Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a maintenance technician to install, inspect, repair, and maintain machinery, electrical systems, and automated equipment in an industrial setting. You will troubleshoot, dismantle, replace parts, and ensure proper operation of hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotic systems.

The role involves conducting tests, performing preventive maintenance, and fabricating or repairing components as needed.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
• Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses operation variations with supervisors to diagnose problems.
• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery.
• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, transformers, wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery.
• Lays out, assembles, installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; repairs gauges, valves and related equipment.
• Repairs and maintains the physical structure of the establishment.
• Installs, programs or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
• Sets up and operates machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.
• Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions and other wooden structures.
