Job summary

BlueScope is seeking a Maintenance Technician to independently install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and building systems under limited supervision. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, diagnostics, electrical and mechanical repairs, and involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include performing PM on drives and motors, diagnosing issues from blueprints, and installing automated machinery and PLCs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• ACT WorkKeys Assessment at certified job profile skill level.
• Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance or Technical school degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, machinist and/or related fields.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or drawing software is preferred.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing PLCs and robotics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on drives, motors, belts, and filters (20%).
• Diagnose mechanical problems using manuals and blueprints (15%).
• Repair machines, equipment, and building systems with tools and testing devices (15%).
• Install/repair electrical apparatus including transformers and wiring (10%).
• Repair devices to access defective parts using hoists and hand tools (10%).
• Support die maintenance and troubleshoot roll forming equipment (10%).
• Install/program/repair automated machinery and PLCs (5%).
• Set up machine tools to fabricate parts and perform welding (5%).
• Participate in continuous improvement and corrective actions (5%).
• Housekeeping and 5-S duties (5%).
