Job summary

BlueScope is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician in Alabama to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and building systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical issues, and support automated machinery, robots, and roll forming equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; ACT WorkKeys applicable.
• 1 year industrial maintenance experience required; technical schooling or certs acceptable.
• Preferred: 5+ years in industrial maintenance electrical/mechanical fields.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on drives, motors, belts, and filters.
• Diagnose mechanical problems using manuals and blueprints.
• Repair machines and building systems with precision instruments.
• Install/repair electrical components, transformers, wiring.
• Repair devices and access parts using hoists and hand tools.
• Support die maintenance and roll forming equipment troubleshooting.
• Install/program/repair automated machinery and robots.
• Operate lathes, grinders, mills to fabricate parts; weld as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and housekeeping (5S).
