BlueScope Buildings North America, Inc. in Alabama is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to maintain and troubleshoot plant equipment, electrical systems and automation to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The role focuses on preventive maintenance, repairs, and continuous improvement within a CMMS-driven environment. The position requires reading blueprints, equipment troubleshooting, and experience with PLCs/robotics is a plus, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent; ACT WorkKeys Assessment at certified job profile skill level; 1 year of experience in industrial maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on drives, motors, belts, and fluid systems as part of a 100% annualized maintenance plan (20%).
• Diagnose mechanical problems using blueprints or manuals (15%).
• Repair machines, equipment or building systems using precision instruments and testing devices (15%).
• Install and repair electrical apparatus including transformers, wiring, and components (10%).
• Repair devices with hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools (10%).
• Support die maintenance and troubleshooting of roll forming equipment (10%).
• Install and repair automated machinery and robotics (5%).
• Set up and operate machine tools and welding equipment to fabricate parts (5%).
• Participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities (5%).
• Perform housekeeping, 5-S, and other duties as assigned (5%).
