Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform complex maintenance tasks in a Chester, CT manufacturing environment. You will handle mechanical, electrical and light carpentry issues, oversee scheduled and unscheduled tasks, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

Typical duties include repairs to pumps, valves, motors, chillers, and HVAC systems, with emphasis on safety, documentation, and collaboration with contractors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years experience in facilities maintenance or related field.
• Strong mechanical ability and foundational electrical knowledge.
• Ability to prioritize tasks safely and follow site protocols.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, or structural systems and perform preventative maintenance.
• Collaborate with internal teams and contractors to maintain facilities and equipment functionality.
• Keep accurate records of settings from precision controls for repeat applications.
• Maintain tools and equipment in a clean, safe condition and follow safety regulations.
• Perform routine tanker equipment maintenance and HVAC maintenance as required.
• Support production by monitoring systems and addressing issues promptly.
