Job summary

ITW in Manchester, CT seeks a Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair and improve production equipment, facility systems and processes. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and coordinate with suppliers while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

The role requires 3–5 years of related maintenance experience, a technical certificate or equivalent, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Forklift experience is beneficial and OSHA awareness is valued.

Qualifications

• 35 years related maintenance experience.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical systems is required.
• Safety training or certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Use manuals, schematics, drawings and instructions to perform maintenance tasks.
• Assemble and install mechanical and electrical equipment and systems.
• Repair, rebuild, wire, troubleshoot and maintain machines with maintenance department tools.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues on production equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and systems.
• Carry out general plant maintenance such as plumbing, lighting and wiring.
• Maintain the maintenance shop, tools and inventories.
• Initiate or prepare purchase orders for inventory needs.
• Address safety inspector recommendations to OSHA requirements.
• Collaborate with supervisors to detect improper operations or unsafe conditions.
• Initiate bids for contractual work and oversee vendors to ensure timely, correct completion.
• Work with minimal supervision and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
• Participate in on-the-job training and continuous learning.
• Apply ITW Principles 80/20 to reduce complexity and increase profitability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
