Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to install, repair and maintain industrial processing equipment and facilities at our Tucker, GA site. You will support rolling stock equipment and uphold OSHA safety standards while keeping a clean, safe work area.

You will work a full-time schedule (40 hours, with overtime as needed), demonstrate strong problem-solving and teamwork, and read and interpret equipment manuals to ensure reliable operation and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED strongly preferred.
• Industrial maintenance or heavy equipment experience required.
• Capable of operating hand, power and specialty tools.
• Advanced understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanics.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
• Team player and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must pass a background check and drug screen.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating procedures and manuals.
• Operate various pieces of mobile equipment.
• Willing to work overtime as needed.
• Maintain good attendance.
• Perform all essential functions with/without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain industrial processing equipment, production machinery and facilities.
• Provide support for rolling stock equipment.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment complying with OSHA standards.
• Troubleshoot motors, conveyors, electrical systems, pneumatics and hydraulics as qualified.
• Identify faulty equipment through observation and testing metrics.
• Repair and maintain rolling stock and facilities.
• Safely operate rolling stock and tools.
• Attend daily shift meetings to prioritize tasks and minimize downtime.
• Participate in plant safety program and Safety Committee.
• Maintain good attendance and adaptability to overtime as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
