Job summary

Pregis is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role is critical to minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and supporting safe, efficient production operations in Aurora, Illinois.

The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience, reads schematics, and works with CMMS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Experience with motors, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and machine controls
• Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
• Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, and drive systems
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair situations
• Perform equipment inspections and complete scheduled maintenance activities
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders using CMMS
• Support production equipment, utility systems, and facility support equipment
• Communicate equipment issues and repair updates with production teams and leadership
• Assist with maintenance parts inventory and stock management
• Follow OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash, and all company safety procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve equipment performance and reliability
