Job summary

Salm Partners is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform diverse mechanical and basic electrical tasks to install, troubleshoot, and maintain production and facility equipment. You will support safety, food safety, SQF, GMP, and USDA requirements while ensuring reliable plant operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; related associate degree preferred.
• Experience in USDA-regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
• Broader hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical and industrial skills desired.
• PLC, boiler, ammonia refrigeration system, and HVAC experience preferred.
• Power systems, AC frequency drives, gearboxes, and pumps exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot plant utility systems (ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, boilers, compressed air, fire protection, water/wastewater, natural gas, chemical treatment).
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and document in CMMS.
• Conduct daily inspections and verification logs of all systems.
• Support PSM and audit processes with documentation and SOP reviews.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for preventive work and inspections.
• Read equipment manuals and work requests to perform maintenance tasks.
• Perform basic machinist and welding duties as needed.
• Monitor water treatment, boilers, cooling towers, and HVAC systems.
