  • Troubleshoot mechanical failures and equipment performance issues.
  • Repair, replace, and rebuild pumps, gearboxes, shafts, bearings, seals, conveyors, motors, fans, and other production equipment.
  • Operate machine shop equipment and fabricate/repair parts as needed.
  • Read blueprints and technical specifications; enter data into SAP Maintenance Management System.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams.

Job description

Overview:

The primary role ofMechanical Technicianis to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve manufacturing and plant equipment in a safe, reliable, and cost-effective manner. This role will support production operations by performing preventive and predictive maintenance, equipment overhauls, troubleshooting, fabrication, and continuous improvement activities

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Follow all site safety procedures, policies, and regulations.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and utility equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical failures and equipment performance issues.
  • Repair, replace, and rebuild pumps, gearboxes, shafts, bearings, seals, conveyors, motors, fans, and other production equipment.
  • Operate machine shop equipment including lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and related tools.
  • Fabricate and repair parts using welding and metalworking equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Enter work order information, labor hours, and equipment history into SAP Maintenance Management System.
  • Maintain maintenance procedures, manuals, and records.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues.
  • Work effectively with electrical and instrumentation technicians.
  • Train and mentor less experienced technicians when required.
Qualifications:
Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 4 years of industrial maintenance experience or completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
  • Basic computer skills.
Preferred
  • Associate degree in Mechanical Technology or related field.
  • Experience with SAP Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Experience operating machine shop equipment.
  • Multi-craft maintenance experience.

  • Mobile equipment certification (forklift, pallet jack, Scissor lift, JLG, etc.)
  • Site maintenance training qualifications
  • Periodic refresher and safety training requirements
