Job summary

VERBIO North America is seeking a mechanically skilled maintenance technician to support safe, reliable plant operation in South Bend. You will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on industrial equipment, participate in outages, and install or modify machinery as needed.

The role requires experience with industrial mechanical systems, CMMS, and a willingness to rotate on-call. OSHA and other safety qualifications are preferred, with a focus on teamwork and clear

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of relevant on-the-job experience.
• Experienced in industrial mechanical maintenance and process systems.
• Familiar with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Willingness to work a rotating on-call schedule.
• Relevant maintenance certifications are preferred (OSHA, Rigging & Signaling, precision maintenance, welding).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment and systems to ensure safe and reliable plant operations.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities to identify and correct defects before failure.
• Respond to and perform emergency maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Install, modify, and commission various types of industrial equipment and machinery.
• Assist with shutdowns and startups during planned outages and projects.
• Adhere to OSHA and National Electrical Safety Code regulations and procedures.
• Develop collaborative relationships between operations and maintenance teams to improve reliability.
• Perform industrial mechanical construction and maintenance activities as needed.
• Utilize CMMS to review and document maintenance work.
