Job summary

Gates Corporation in Red Bay, Alabama, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support preventive maintenance and repair of industrial equipment. The role requires reading schematics, diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues, and maintaining records.

You will work 5pm to 5am on a 2-2-3 schedule, bring your own tools, and collaborate with a hands-on team in a safety-focused plant. Strong candidates have a technical maintenance background or equivalent experience, with PLC

Qualifications

Technical maintenance degree or equivalent hands-on training with solid industrial maintenance knowledge.
Strong background in mechanical troubleshooting and reading schematics.
Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication and installing equipment.
Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and electrical wiring fundamentals.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and repair industrial equipment to minimize downtime.
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, motors, control panels, and PLCs.
Operate machine tools to fabricate or repair components and optimize systems.
Keep accurate time and material records and communicate with the team.
