Job summary

Sherwood Bedding is seeking a skilled General Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and repair of equipment and facility systems within our Kentucky mattress manufacturing plant. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment to minimise downtime and ensure safe, efficient operations.

Key responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery, reading schematics, and documenting work orders while following OSHA standards and safety

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical systems and basic electrical components.
• Experience with industrial equipment, motors, conveyors, and production machinery.
• Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Basic welding or fabrication skills are a plus.
• Ability to work independently and respond quickly to equipment issues.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage.
• Follow safety policies, OSHA standards, and company procedures.
• Work closely with production teams to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
