Job summary

Metalico is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Laborer to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a range of industrial machinery in our Akron-area plant. You will help keep production running smoothly, improve equipment reliability, and support safety and environmental guidelines.

The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, use of standard hand tools, and the ability to work at heights in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of related experience or training in industrial maintenance
• Minimum 2–3 years maintenance experience preferred
• Able to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, cylinders, valves, accumulators, and pumps
• Experience with conveyors and reading schematics preferred
• Must be comfortable working at heights
• Drug-free workplace requirement

Responsibilities

• Install, dismantle, maintain, repair, and move machinery.
• Align gears and shafts; attach motors and belts.
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor fabrication.
• Troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Communicate with team and follow safety guidelines.
• Work independently or in a team; meet production needs.
• Read and follow company procedures.
