Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Maintenance Technician III in Auburn, WA. The role is an electro-mechanical position supporting manufacturing operations, diagnosing complex problems, and performing detailed equipment setups.

The shift is a rotational day shift from 3am-3:30pm with a pay rate of $30-$40 per hour. The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, strong safety knowledge, and proficiency in reading schematics and using Word/Excel.

Qualifications

  • 3-7 years' maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures.
  • Able to strictly adhere to safety policies/procedures and be committed to customer quality.
  • Must be available for regular standby assignments; work scheduled off-hours and emergency overtime as required.
  • Proficient in reading printed materials, blueprints, schematics, and computer graphics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing operations and repairs of equipment as needed.
  • Diagnose and repair electro-mechanical problems with manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform detailed setup on equipment including recipe changes and control adjustments.
  • Repair and maintain mechanical machine components in good condition.
  • Troubleshoot electrical control circuits, field devices, sensors, and motor control circuits.
  • Complete projects to add electrical circuits, controls, new equipment or relocate machines.
  • Maintain and repair pneumatic systems and components.
  • Enter all work completed in the maintenance program.
  • Monitor and report spare parts usage and complete parts order forms.
  • Train Level I and II technicians in more complex tasks and skills.

Job Details
  • Rotational Day Shift: 3am-3:30pm
  • Pay: $30-$40 per hour
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintenance Technician III is an Electro-Mechanical position and responsibilities will include but not be limited to supporting manufacturing operations, adjusting and repairing equipment as needed, tracking usage of and ordering replacement parts.
  • Diagnose and repair complex electro-mechanical problems with manufacturing equipment
  • Perform detailed setup on equipment including recipe changes and control adjustments
  • Repair and keep mechanical machine components in top operating condition
  • Advanced understanding of electrical principles such as voltage, current and resistance
  • Diagnose and repair electrical control circuits, field devices, sensors, photo eyes, etc.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical safety and motor control circuits and programmable drives
  • Troubleshoot the inputs and outputs on PLC and repair issues
  • Complete projects to add electrical circuits and controls, new equipment and relocate machines
  • Maintain and repair pneumatic systems including repairs of cylinders and other components
  • Perform simple to complex mechanical Preventative Maintenance Tasks following instructions
  • Enter all work completed in computer-based maintenance program
  • Monitor and report spare parts usage including completing parts order forms
  • Adjust equipment based on Statistical Process Control data and team with QA
  • Train Level I and II technicians in more complex tasks and skills
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Associates degree in related field is desired
  • 3-7 years' maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of and experience with Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures
  • Able to strictly adhere to safety policies/procedures and be committed to customer quality.
  • Must be available for regular standby assignments; work scheduled off-hours and emergency overtime as required.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Must be willing to attend training sessions as needed, including out of state locations
  • Ability to assist in Training Level I and II Technicians
  • Intermediate knowledge of fabrication (ex. welding, basic machining)
  • Possess strong work ethic and knowledge of intermediate troubleshooting
  • Able to read printed materials, blueprints, schematics, and computer graphics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships employees, vendors, contractors, and suppliers
  • Ability to show attention to detail in a very fast paced environment
  • Flexible and willing to work overtime as required

Work Environment

Mainly a manufacturing facility, where exposed to moving mechanical parts, forklifts, heavy pallets, moderate to loud noise level, and air-borne dust, powders, and fumes. While working, will be required to wear various personal protective equipment (e.g., clothing, gloves, goggles, safety glasses, steel toed shoes, cut resistant aprons, etc.) based on work area or task.
