Job summary

Blue Origin in Grandview, MO is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support automated manufacturing equipment and production lines for battery cell and pack production. Responsibilities include preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, calibration tasks, and CMMS record-keeping to ensure quality and uptime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; vocational/technical training in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in manufacturing/industrial/automated production environments.
• Proficiency with PLC-controlled systems, automated equipment, motors, drives (VFDs), and electrical troubleshooting up to 480V.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on automated manufacturing equipment, robotic assembly systems, conveyors, and facility infrastructure supporting battery cell and pack production.
• Perform calibration services on equipment maintained in-house per calibration procedures and requirements.
• Maintain the on-site Calibration System and manage tools and equipment changes, including new equipment integration.
• Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment history in the CMMS for regulatory and quality compliance.
• Manage inventory of the MRO crib and control issuance and replacement of spare parts.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to minimize downtime and maximize throughput.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, and OEM manuals to perform tasks safely and accurately.
• Collaborate with process engineers and quality teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Assist with installation/commissioning/qualification of new equipment and line expansions.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure continuous production operations.
