Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Monticello, IA is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician to maintain machines, equipment and forklifts on 1st shift. Responsibilities include following safety rules and repairing electrical equipment according to blueprints.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, ability to lift 30 pounds, and willingness to work 6:00am–2:00pm with possible extended hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; maintenance field education preferred.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of mechanically powered drive systems.
• Ability to work 6:00am - 2:00pm with flexibility to stay later.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules in a manufacturing environment.
• Repair and install electrical equipment: generators, transformers, switchboards, motors.
• Welding: arc, acetylene, brazing, flame cutting.
• Diagnose and correct electrical system/troubles.
• Inspect machinery to ensure quality per orders.
• Follow preventive maintenance program and inspections.
• Perform minor building repairs.
• Notify management about major repairs or lighting/heating needs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement.
• May take on additional projects.
