Job summary

Primetals Technologies USA in Calvert, AL is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and repair industrial machinery including caster systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, precision measurements, alignment, and component replacement to ensure equipment reliability.

Required are a High School diploma or equivalent, tool proficiency and willingness to obtain crane/forklift certification.

Qualifications

High School or Equivalent is required.
Experience and skills determine classification level and pay.
Crane/Forklift training provided in-house to obtain certification.
Proper use of tools such as micrometers, bore gages, indicators, hydraulic tools and other hand tools.
Proper use of safety equipment such as safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves and ear plugs.

Responsibilities

Ensures operation of machinery by completing preventive maintenance on production machines.
Dismantles, moves, assembles, installs and repairs industrial machinery per plans and drawings.
Locates problems by observing devices and using precision measuring/testing instruments.
Removes defective parts and uses hoists and power tools for maintenance.
Travel to other locations may be required.
Other duties as assigned by management.
