Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

1. Follow the guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), uniform and dress code, and product safety requirements.

2. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, keeping work area clean and safe at all times.

3. Maintain a good attendance record and positive attitude.

4. Support company policies and be safety conscious at all times.

5. Address or report safety concerns immediately.

6. Ensure all equipment is lubricated properly by checking and greasing equipment.

7. Check bearings, chains, and belts for abnormal wear. Replace as necessary.

8. Perform preventative maintenance as needed.

9. Troubleshoot and repair equipment.

10. Facility maintenance.

11. May be required to do light plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical tasks.

12. Assist with mechanical breakdowns.

13. Assist in the maintenance and repair of the grounds.

14. Remove trash, sweep walkways, and shovel snow.

15. Work extended schedules as the needs of the business dictate.

16. Operate forklifts, manlifts and boom lifts

17. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education and Experience

· Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma and one to three years related experience to become familiar with equipment and processes.

  • Mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
  • Must be skilled in the use and operation of common hand and power tools and measuring devices.
  • If assigned to operate a motor vehicle, must have skills and knowledge to accomplish safe operation of the vehicles operated.
  • Experience in performing duties as described and the ability to follow oral and written instructions involving those duties.
  • Basic electrical skills including use of voltmeters, ohmmeters and pipe benders.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
  • Forklift experience
  • Capable of operating man lifts and boom lifts

Skills

1. Ability to read and write English.

2. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

3. Ability to write simple correspondence.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

· Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

· Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job:

· The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools, or controls; reach above shoulders; and talk and listen.

· The employee is occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and use foot/feet to operate machine.

· The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job included close vision, distance vision, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

· Must be able to work at heights, climbing ladders, stairs and operating manlifts and boom lifts.
