Job summary

Carl Buddig & Company in South Holland, IL is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the Processing Department. You will repair, service, and improve processing equipment to ensure safe, high-quality production and compliance with food safety standards.

Responsibilities include installing and maintaining equipment, diagnosing issues with mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems, and keeping detailed maintenance records. Must be able to operate PIT equipment and work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of related work experience in mechanical and/or electrical trades.
• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Completion of a recognized vocational program in mechanical or electrical trades preferred.
• Able to drive PIT equipment to perform responsibilities.
• Knowledge of safety practices and troubleshooting across multiple systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair processing equipment using hand and power tools.
• Service and repair electric motors, heaters, coolers, and related equipment.
• Maintain steam and chemical water treatment systems and diagnose malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Move and position machinery using pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Read electrical schematics and interpret PLC ladder logic.
