Job summary

East Jordan Plastics, Inc. is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to keep extrusion and thermoforming equipment running at peak performance.

You will diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, service PLCs and control systems, and implement improvements to reduce downtime. The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, ownership of equipment performance, and adherence to safety procedures in a fast-paced plastics manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical troubleshooting experience (480V, controls, PLCs preferred).
• Proven ability to diagnose and solve complex equipment problems under pressure.
• Experience in plastics, extrusion, or thermoforming equipment is a strong plus.
• Solid mechanical aptitude in addition to electrical skills.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Self-motivated problem solver who works well independently and in a team.
• Desire to take ownership of equipment performance and continually improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical and mechanical issues on extrusion and thermoforming equipment.
• Work with PLCs, sensors, motors, drives, and control systems to maintain and improve equipment reliability.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Analyze equipment performance and implement process improvements.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to solve recurring issues.
• Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and document repairs and improvements.
• Champion and follow all safety procedures.
