Job summary

MPP is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support operations at our Rockwood, TN facility. This role focuses on maintaining production equipment and facility systems under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, with emphasis on reliability and safety.

The successful candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and experience in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, repairs, and collaboration with internal teams on

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Minimum of 4+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Basic PLC experience preferred.
• Proficient with computers and clear written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Safely select and use basic shop, power, and hand tools (e.g., welders, oxy-acetylene equipment, plasma cutters, pipe threaders, grinders, drills, saws, and hand tools).
• Perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machines and facility equipment.
• Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs during production, as well as perform scheduled maintenance.
• Diagnose issues, repair or replace defective parts, and make necessary adjustments.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on machines and facility systems.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and work orders.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs.
• Install and maintain power supply systems, conduit, wiring, and programmable controllers.
• Use electrical testing equipment and material handling tools safely and effectively.
• Operate equipment within assigned areas and provide coverage as needed.
• Identify and report faulty operations, defective materials, and unusual conditions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform welding tasks (MIG & ARC).
• Respond to additional maintenance and electrical requests as needed.
