Michigan Sugar Company has an immediate full-time opportunity for a P&W Maintenance Technician at the Bay City Factory in Bay City, MI. The role focuses on maintaining electrical and mechanical systems in a safe, food-production environment.

The position requires an electrical license (Journeyman or Master), 3–5 years in industrial electrical work, PLC/motor control knowledge, mechanical training certification, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Current State of Michigan Electrical Journeyman or Masters License required.
• Minimum of 3–5 years industrial electrical experience.
• Industrial experience including motor control, relay logic, PLC logic.
• Certification of mechanical training and 3–5 years of experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in hot and cold environments.

Responsibilities

• Keep electrical systems running to prevent minimum downtime in process.
• Maintain existing electrical systems and upgrade/add new electrical systems.
• Work with mechanics or independently on mechanical issues.
• Maintain existing mechanical equipment and upgrade/add new equipment.
• Ability to quickly problem solve and make decisions.
• Overtime is structured into this position.
• Demonstrate personal leadership and a positive can-do attitude.
• Be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Use the internet to research, order and track parts for delivery.
• Communicate issues and solutions with every shift for smooth handoffs.
