Job summary

Michigan Sugar Company is seeking a Welder for the Bay City Factory to perform day-to-day welding and fabrication within the Agricultural Maintenance Department, driving continuous improvement for efficiency and reduced downtime. The role supports shift operations and requires proficiency with various welding and cutting equipment.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of welding and fabrication experience, a High School Diploma or equivalent, and must pass/maintain a welding

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must pass MSC approved Welding Certification Test at Delta College.
• Maintain welding certification throughout employment.
• Minimum of 5 years welding and fabrication experience.
• Chauffeur License or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Weld repairs of pilers, ventilation equipment and related agricultural equipment.
• Improve productivity and reduce downtime through welding and fabrication.
• Oversee contractor repairs and report progress and deficiencies.
• Safely use hand and power tools for welding, cutting, fabrication and repair.
• Attend training/workshops on equipment updates and maintenance.
• Maintain accurate parts inventory for welding and fabrication equipment.
• Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices and safety standards.
