Job Description

Industrial Maintenance Technician – Des Moines, IA

This is a full-time hourly position at our soybean processing plant.
Sign-on bonus: $1,500
Pay Rate: $27.76/hour
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm. On-Call and Overtime required.

Job Summary:

Perform inspections and mechanical repairs on process equipment, emphasizing Precision Maintenance and Reliability. Troubleshoot and use diagnostic tools to detect, prevent, and repair equipment failures.

Qualifications:

  • 2-year Technical Degree in a maintenance-related field or applicable industrial maintenance experience with conveying systems, pumps, compressors, and high-speed rotating equipment. Relevant degrees include Auto Mechanics, Diesel Mechanics, or Mechatronics.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Promote ADM’s Core Values and the company way.
  • Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Work in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, dusty, and noisy environments, using PPE.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs, walk long distances, climb ladders and stairs, work on feet, bend, kneel, and perform work at high elevations and in confined spaces like tanks and boilers.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, following safety and GMP rules.
  • Use millwright hand and power tools; experience with technical measuring tools is desired.
  • Participate in ongoing training to develop skills.
  • Support food safety, quality, and legality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to set expectations for safety, reliability, quality, service, and productivity.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS software.
  • Customer-focused, proactive in conflict resolution, and capable of managing priorities.

Education/Training:

  • High school diploma/GED or apprentice training; Associate’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Strong expertise in mechanical or industrial maintenance.

Pay may vary based on individual factors. Overtime pay applies for qualifying hours. Employees are at-will and pay can be modified at any time.

Expected pay: $27.76/hr.
