Job summary

ADP, Inc. at Naval Weapons Station Indian Head in Maryland seeks a skilled technician to support maintenance, repair, and installation of building systems and packaging solutions for energetic materials, including design and remediation of shipping containers.

The role requires reading blueprints and CAD drawings, performing multi-trade tasks across carpentry, HVAC, plumbing and electrical work, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in residential/commercial construction and finish techniques.
  • Knowledge in carpentry equipment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to gain/maintain a Secret Clearance and pass Explosives Handler physical and Respirator Fit test.
  • Ability to pass Ammo-18 Certification class.

Responsibilities

  • Tasks may include but are not limited to routine help with maintenance, repair, installation, and modification to existing or new process equipment. This work includes hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronics, pipe fitting, HVAC, and steam fitting.
  • Assist with troubleshoot, repair, modify, and conduct preventative maintenance on complex electrical, mechanical, and processing systems.
  • Technician will be required to execute written maintenance procedures and document work completed on record sheets to be archived in data base.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and CAD drawings for construction of shipping boxes. This includes working with as built and modification of existing drawings.
  • Assemble and erect rough wooden boxes and dunnage for storage and stowage of energetic materials.
  • Design and repair new and existing storage boxes, crates, pallets, etc.
  • Track and maintain wood inventory logs for shipments, job orders and remediation.

Scope of Performance:

Technician will help support maintenance, repair, and installation of building structures and systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Steam, Compressed Air, Carpentry, Fire Alarm). This will include design, production and remediation of shipping containers. Technician will work in all explosive and non explosive areas as determined by management or COR. Technician shall be subject to physical examinations and certification requirements. Technician will also support varying shifts including night shifts.
