Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC in Owosso, MI seeks a Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance on machinery in an industrial setting. You will follow plant policies, safety guidelines and contribute to production and quality goals.

Roles start at $33.76/hr with the opportunity to advance to $42.20/hr. Night shift differential is $1.00 and a $4,000 sign-on bonus is offered. 12-hour rotating shifts apply, with a sample schedule provided.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting equipment in a manufacturing, industrial or military environment.
• Experience with 480V Motors.
• Experience reading electrical schematics/mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting mechanical and/or electrical problems, repair and maintain all equipment in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
• Help to meet or exceed production, waste, and quality goals through a quality maintenance program.
• Install and repair mechanical components, welding, and fabrication of materials.
• Read and interpret mechanical, basic electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
• Understand knowledge and safe work practices involving mechanical machinery and lock out tag out processes.
• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturers specifications, including.. Motors, Pneumatic components, Conveyor systems, PLCs, Production machines, Alignments.
• Use hand tools, power tools and precision-measuring devices and testing instruments.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
