Job summary

Carter Lumber Company is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to keep facilities and production equipment in top condition. You will perform electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance, troubleshoot systems, and document activities to minimize downtime.

The role requires on-site work, strong multitasking and teamwork, with a 2nd shift schedule and a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial production machinery.
• Ability to work on-site and unsupervised.
• Knowledge of industrial maintenance, including electrical troubleshooting, welding, fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Capable of working at a fast pace and multi-tasking.
• Ability to lift 25–50 lbs and use computer tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facilities, buildings and assets in a proper and cost-effective manner.
• Make recommendations on maintenance and improvements.
• Prioritize and set goals based on project importance.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including servos, limit switches, PLCs, sensors, motors, and basic machine controls.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on all production machinery to minimize downtime.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair conveyors, saws, motors, gearboxes, bearings, and hydraulic/pneumatic components.
• Document all maintenance activities and maintain accurate service records.
• Recommend and maintain inventory of critical spare parts to ensure continuous operation.
• Adhere to safety requirements when operating tools and equipment.
