Job summary

Worthington Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to perform routine and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment at our Elgen facility in Closter, NJ.

The role operates on 2nd shift (Mon–Fri 2:00 PM–10:30 PM) with a pay rate of $30–$35 per hour. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, installation support, parts management, documentation, and collaboration with production and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or in a similar maintenance role.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, with a focus on industrial machinery.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Familiarity with preventive maintenance strategies and machinery repair best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and ability to document maintenance activities accurately
• Basic computer skills for maintenance scheduling and record-keeping.
• Certification in welding, hydraulics, or electrical systems.
• Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and control systems.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols in a manufacturing environment.
• For this position, it is required to be able to lift to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on machinery and equipment.
• Adhere to safety standards and maintain organized workspaces.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
• Assist with installation of new equipment.
• Maintain inventory of mechanical parts and tools.
• Document maintenance activities and provide reports to management.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams for improvements.
• Respond to emergency maintenance during off-hours as needed
